Summer 2012--Sept 2012

Eli starts to name the trees around the house and neighborhood. "Mommy tree, Daddy tree, Eli tree, Titus tree, Isaac tree. All friends!"
September 2012

It's time to blow Isaac's birthday candles out. Titus jumps the gun and does it for Isaac--twice. Titus was then moved to the other side of the table.
September 2012

"Wow," says Isaac, "this ice cream makes my teeth hurt... It also gives my head get a earthbreak.
"Do earthbreaks happen in warm places or cold places?"
September 2012

Isaac, "Eli, Grammie teaches kindergarten kids--"
Eli, "R2D2?"
Isaac, "No, Eli, not R2D2--"
Eli, "C-3PO?"
Isaac, "No, she doesn't teach about C-3PO!"
September 2012

"Come on, Titus!" yells Isaac, while playing.
Titus responds, "No, I Tiny!"
September 2012

Matt is on his bike, and I'm pulling Isaac on the trailer bike. Matt begins to bump Isaac's back tire with his front tire. Isaac starts to peddle really fast, then starts to (pretend) throw anti-personnel weapons at Matt, yelling: "Grenade! [throw] Claymore! [throw] Flashbang! [throw]"
August 2012

Matt gives the boys his homemade mac-n-cheese.
Isaac says, "Dad you make pretty good mac-n-cheese, and Mom makes the best chocolate chip muffins in the whole world!"
September 2012

Titus is pretty determined to do everything for himself. This includes putting a new diaper on himself and buckling himself in his set belt. When he wants to do something by himself, he screams: "I HELP!!" (However when it comes to ice cream feeding, I can assist him.)
August 2012

Me and Eli are in a public restroom stall together. He uses the restroom, then I have to go. I try to hide myself, but he spots me, and asks: "Mom, you pee broke? You have bum?"
August 2012

When Eli gets home he usually exclaims: "I so hot!" and strips down naked.
Or he'll take his clothes of in his room, come to me in the kitchen, show off his curves (with hands on hips), and smile and says: "I naked boy!"
Summer 2012

Every time we bike to school we pass a tree that Isaac calls the "Avatar tree."
Today on our way back from biking I hear Eli yell, "Avatar tree!"
And Titus yell, "Apple Juice-tar tree!"
August 2012

Eli says, "I'm Darth Vader!" And shots his arm vertical up above his head.
Eli says, "I'm Darth Mal!" And shots his both is arms out horizontal.
Summer 2012

Isaac asks, "Do I just have 5 days left of Kindergarten?"
I say, "Nope, 180 days more days."
Isaac laughs, and says, "You're just kidding! Right?"
I say, "No... I'm not."
Isaac says, "What? Is that a lot of days, like this?" And he hold his hands out wide to indicate a distance/time length.
I say, "More or less like that."
As I leave the room, Isaac asks again, "Are you just kidding about that though?"
August 2012

I dunk Eli a bit under water, then some more, and finally push all the way to the bottom of the pool and bring him back up.
With water all over his face, and a huge smile, he shouts/grunts: "AWESOME!"
July 2012

A teenage boy jumps high out the the pool. Isaac exclaims: "Wow! Look at that human!"
July 2012

Titus lets out a full sound toot.
"See that?!" he exclaims.
July 2012

Eli looks at the evening sky, points, and says, "I wanna go there."
I ask, "You want to go to the moon?"
He sighs, "Yeah..."
Summer 2012

Titus likes to point to the tree filled sky and yell, "Spiderman!"
Summer 2012

Eli LOVES the Imperial March from Star Wars (Darth Vadar song). He sings it all the time! But today I hear him putting his own special words to the tune--words that are about his day, and what things are going on in his life.
July 7, 2012

I serve some homemade mac-n-cheese. The boys eat it up! But Isaac remarks, "Wow, Mom, this is really good. But Dad makes it better."
July 7, 2012

Titus' singing sound more like a cat. Each note has it's own special "meow!" sound.
Summer 2012

Grammie (my mom) hoses down a smoldering fire, and huge smoke clouds form. Isaac exclaims, "Wow! That's like World War 2! That was a big war."
June 2012

Eli tells me, in a very hurt voice, "Ant, eat me, E-i. Owie!"
June 2012

Isaac is looking at the pool and says, "I wish I could walk on water like Jesus... Hey! Did you know nijas can walk on water with special shoes?"
June 2012

I'm getting Eil ready for the night and it is time to brush his teeth. He tells me how I should do the brushing by saying: "Eee, Ahh, Ugh." So I brush his teeth, and we do an "eee," then an "ahh," and I think we are done. I take the toothbrush away and Eli says, "No! Ugh!" (meaning tounge, which I forgot to do).
June 2012
I'm getting the boys down for bed and tell them to pick out a song to sing after "I am a Child of God." Unanimously "Darth Vadar Song" is chosen.
June 2012

Isaac looks at my very hair legs and says in a very worried voice, "Mom, why are there splinters all over your legs?!"
Summer 2012

When Titus thinks he has done something pretty awesome, like stand with one leg sticking out in front, he says: "See?! Look e'me!"
Summer 2012

Isaac is sitting on Nana's couch in a blanket. He tells me, "Mom, I'm hot."
I say, "Take the blanket off."
He says, "I'm not hot on the outside, just in the inside."
I think for a minute, then come this conclusion, "Isaac, do you want a popsicle?"
Isaac, "Yes!"

January 2012 thru May 2012

Isaac and Eli are so impressed with Matt's ability to throw rocks far. Isaac says, "What the..." and Eli finishes, "... heck!"

May 2012

Isaac is a complete goof, with a big heart, and a very inquisitive mind. The end.

Spring 2012

Eli is screaming in the middle of the night for "Luke Skywalker!" I console him and help him find the small Stars Wars figure. As I leave I hear Titus mumble in his crib, while sound asleep, "Luke Skywalker..."

April 2012

Eli loves to laugh at silly words, especially ones that he makes up. The one that always brings a big belly laugh is "Basketball Pancakes!"

April/May 2012

Titus slames dunks a small football into a cup and yells, "Basketball football game!!"

March 2012

On the way home from preschool Isaac starts to talk about Eli and Eli's birthday. He remarks, "Eli's a pretty good guy. But he beats up Titus. I love Titus."

April 2012

When Eli finishes a project, he proudly exclaims, "Ta-de-ta!"

Spring 2012

Titus has been naked for 10 minutes. I ask him, "Do you need to go pee?" He runs to the bathroom, but Eli beats him there. Titus then runs in the other direction, circles around, then pees on the carpet. He's very proud.

April 2012

Violence is starting to erupt in our home:

-Eli is waiting patiently by the stove for a drink. Titus comes up behind Eli, shoves him in the back, and Eli's face and chest slam into the stove front.

-Eli has a plastic sword, Titus has a plastic light saber. Matt tells Eli, "Don't hit him!" But Eli does, though it's a gentle tap on Titus' head. Titus takes vengeance, turns around and clobbers Eli in the head with the light saber.

March 2012

Isaac is obviously not feeling well. He's moaning in his carseat. Matt says, "You know Dude, we probably shouldn't swim today because you don't look so well."

Isaac pleads, "But I want too! I'm okay. I'm just tired, and cold, and have a little bit of a cough."

March 2012

Eli loves to play hide-n-seek. He counts and says, "1, 2, 16, 8, ready or not, here I come!"

Winter 2012

Me and the boys are driving in the van, and Eli is in one of his moods. During a break of screaming, I hear Isaac whisper, "It's not okay, okay?!" and not even a half second later Eli screams, "IT'S NOT OKAY, OKAY?!" In the mirror Isaac and I look at each other, and smile.

February 2012

Titus is unsure and jealous of his new cousin, Jaxson. Titus cries, and moans, and needs to be held whenever the little 3 month old is in the room.

February 2012

Titus occasionally likes to put this hand down the front of his diaper and just... walk around...

Winter 2012

When Eli says he has to "pee-potty" Titus runs to the bathroom too, in which Eli totally freaks out, and screams, "No! My pee-potty! Mine!"

February 2012

Isaac takes a bite of some homemade bread. He exclaims, "Oh wow! This is the best! This is good bread, Mom... bad guys don't like good bread, they like bad bread, right?"

February 2012

At bedtime I tuck Isaac into his covers. I say, "Have good dreams, okay? Maybe about Star Wars." And he says, "Yeah, and Nana and Mume too!"

February 2012

Me, Isaac, and Eli are in the van coming home from Isaac's pick up from preschool. Isaac wants to go to the Idaho Aquarium right now, but I say we can't because, "Eli doesn't have any pants on."

Isaac replies, "That's weird... and strange."

February 2012

Me and boys are in the van and I turn on some music. The cd comes on surprisingly loud, which makes us all jump! Isaac laughs, and says, "Wow, that scared me and made me jump and land on my car seat!"

February 2012

Eli is possible fully potty-trained! (Diaper at night still.)

First week of February 2012

When I hold Eli up to go pee on the toilet, he contracts his whole body to get a fiercer stream!

January 2012

It's after mine and Matt's week trip, and I have to boys for the first time to myself. Titus wants a drink, so I hand him water. He gets so upset with me that he starts pushing and kicking the garbage can down!

January 2012

Isaac has set up an obstacle course in the living room using sofa cushions. After one pretty daring jump (and totally sticking the landing), he exclaims, "Wow, that was kind of like Mud Tougher!"

January 2012

If Eli is enjoying a certain food, he does not take it away from his mouth. The cookie, or hotdog, or pear slice does not leave his mouth until all is consumed!

Winter 2011/2012

Titus is addicted to showers. If he hears some tub water, or even a mention of a shower, he starts to tug at his shirt and say, "shaow-ull!"

Winter 2012

Isaac asks all sorts of questions. All the time!

"Why do we die?"

"Why does everybody poop?"

"Why do we live on the Earth?"

"Why does a car need gas? How does the engine work? Why does the gas burn?"

It's a little overwhelming, but keeps us on our toes.

Winter 2012

Titus' favorite way to get bug his brothers is to sneak up to them, snatch the toy they are playing with, then turn and run like the Devil is chasing him.

Winter 2011

"It's not okay, okay?!" Is Eli's favorite line. Also "understand?!" is usually tagged along. But sounds more like this,

Me, "Eli, let's get some to eat."

Eli, "Is not o-tay, o-tay?! Un-her-san?!"

Fall/Winter 2012

Sept thru December 2011

Titus is frustrated about not getting a ball that his cousin Luke posses. We say to Titus, "Go get that ball!" (Which is a larger, bluer one.) He tucks his head, hunches his shoulders, smiles, and slyly goes to the new find.
December 2011

Isaac says to his Grammie and Gramps (my parents), "I don't like it when people are mean to me. I will beat the crap out of them."
December 2011

Eli is in the middle of an on going potty-training. He yells, "Pee-potty!" I pick him up, and on the way to the bathroom he passes gas on me.
He says, "I burp!"
I say, "No, you tooted."
He replies, "No, I burp."
December 2011

Me and Isaac are practicing if/then sentences. I say, "If the car is small then the bus is___." Isaac replies, "BIG!"
He says, "If the smaller tree is small, then the bigger tree is___." I say, "Well, that'd be 'big.'" He says, "Wow, you're right, Mom!"
December 2011

Isaac isn't feeling well and is in our bed watching shows on the iPad. I hear him start to scream, and I run into the room.
Me, "What happened?! Are you sick?"
Isaac, through sobs, "I was chewing on my finger and I bit myself!"
December 2011

Titus has complete trust in me and Matt. He loves to randomly fling himself at us, in the most heart retching times, and believes that he'll be scooped up before certain death. Like on the stair, or off the table.
Winter 2011

I'm ready to go on a run, decked out in black/grey running gear, and even have a grey water-bottle belt on. Eli looks at me quizzically, and asks, "Mom, you Batman?"
November 2011

Titus loves to take a bath. His favorite thing to do during the bath is to climb the side of the tube. He holds the railing, steps up onto the soap ledge, looks down behind him, then jumps belly first into the bathwater.
November 2011

Me, "Eli, come get your shoes."
Eli, "No, Op-mus Prime!" (Optimus Prime)
Me, "Okay, Optimus Prime come get your shoes."
Eli, "Okay Megatron."
November 2011

Me, "Isaac, did you go to the bathroom?"
Isaac, "Yeah, I did. It was a quick and slobbery poop... I didn't touch it though."
November 2011

When Titus is happy and excited he loves to run in circles, dance little jigs, and "jump" in the air. Falling down often happens, but he gets back with with undeterred enthusiasm and continues his running, dancing, and "jumping."
Fall 2011

It's been a long day. The boys are sitting at the table, yelling happily at each-other, while I'm making dinner. I just can't take the noise and I start to patiently "hush" them: "Shhh... shhh... shhhh..." They get very quiet, and then are silent. Isaac looks at me with big eyes and says, "Mom, I can hear the sound of the house!"
November 2011

Isaac to me: "It was really nice of the builders to make the toilet in my room quiet. But they made the one downstairs too loud, and it's scary."
November 2011

Eli calls a big pile of raked leaves a "tram-ene!" (trampoline)
November 2011

Eli can pick out Jeeps and Toyota 4Runners with 95% accuracy. When seen, he loves to yell: "MOMMY! JEEP!" or "Pour-nunner!"
Fall 2011

Me and the boys are driving through a park. Eli spots a huge statue of a sitting Abraham Lincoln and yells: "JESUS CHRIST!"
October 2011

Isaac's favorite way to address Titus in a loving manner is to say, in a southern/cowboy accent, "Hey 'lil Ty-dah!"
October 2011

Titus likes to shoot guns, and makes noises when bullets leave the gun; i.e. play rocket, long LEGO, plastic spoon. His bullet noise is made with a "ThbbsThbbsThbbs!" with his tongue, often sounding like passing gas than a round leaving a chamber. Oh, and spit goes everywhere too!
October 2011

Isaac often tells me after I raise my voice, "Mom, you scared my feelings."
October 2011

Isaac is watching the football game between Oklahoma Sooners and the Texas Longhorns. He says, "We want the orange team with the cow to win."
October 2011

Eli calls all things the color blue "Optimus Prime," all things yellow "Bumble-Bee," and all things red "Lightening McQueen."
October 2011

The 3 boys are taking a bath together. I step out for moment to change the laundry, and a few seconds later I hear horrible screaming from Eli and Isaac. Thinking that Titus went under, I rush into the bathroom. There I see Titus upright and happy holding the shower pull valve up so that a full shower was on, and Isaac and Eli afraid and crying in the far corner.
October 2011

Titus is running around the living room, naked, with a small plastic sheep in his hand. He puts it in my face, goes "Ahhhhh!" (for 'bah'), puts it up to his ear and says, "E-wow?" (for 'hello'), then runs around the living room saying "E-wow? E-wow?"
October 2011

Eli is learning body parts. His favorite thing to point out are shoulders. He even prays for them, saying, "Beh shou-ers." (Bless shoulders.)
September 2011

We are all riding in the van. Isaac yells from the back seat, "My ear hurts."
Matt asks, "What?"
Isaac, "MY EAR HURTS!!"
Matt, "Oh, your ear hurts? I'm sorry dude."
Isaac, "Well, I'm not dead yet."
September 2011
